Facilities Emergencies

 

Emergencies Only: Call 561-688-7500 (PX 27500) or School Police at 434-8700 (PX 48700) between 3:30pm and 7am.

 

The following are examples of emergencies:

 

  • Flooding
  • Smoke or Fire
  • No power in the entire school, building or wing
  • No water service to schoool
  • Perimeter fence down allowing access to the campus
  • Broken window or door allowing access to the building
  • Signs of imminent danger (ex. structural failure, hanging tree limbs, overheated equipment, etc.)
  • Smell of gas or potentially toxic fumes
  • No air conditioning to the entire school, building or wing
  • Malfunctioning fire alarm system
  • Graffiti (esp. gang related)

 

The following are not considered emergencies:

 

        • Clogged restroom fixture
        • Room too cold or too warm, but the a/c is on
        • Light or outlet not working
        • Grass needs to be cut
        • Painting
        • Broken interior door
        • Damaged wall or flooring

 

Routine work orders should be faxed to the Call Center using the Facilities Services request for Schools Form (Omni Form PBSD 1881) to 561-688-7533 (PX 27533).

 

Emergency Shelters

A number of schools service as emergency shelters for our community.  Stay tuned to local news to find out what shelters are open and when.  Disaster relief services are provided by the American Red Cross and School District staff manage the facilities.
