Beginning 3/14/16, all students can now use their District Google mail account to receive emails from .edu, .gov, .us, .mil, and .fed email addresses. Prior to that date, all student District Google mail accounts were restricted to only communicate with District employees. They could not send and receive email to/from non-District email addresses.
This change allows students to communicate with U.S. postsecondary educational institutions regarding college applications, admissions, financial aid, and scholarships. It also allows students to conduct research through District email communications to and from .edu, .gov, .us, .mil, and .fed addresses.
