Achievements for the 2008-2009 School Year

  • Enrolled over 20,000 students in community education courses

  • Awarded 3,148 GED diplomas

  • Assisted 6,458 students with recovering credits in Credit Lab

  • Funded the K-12 Support Initiative with community school fees generated in the amount of $168,000 for 112 schools and provided 6,720 instructional hours of FCAT tutorial assistance

  • Provided the following:

    • Credit Lab at 20 sites offering 32 high school curriculum courses

    • ABE/GED courses at 20 community schools and three satellite programs

    • Family Literacy at five sites which impacted 275 adults and 240 children in the community

    • ESOL at 24 community schools and seven satellite programs serving 26,479 students

  • Offered high quality on-going staff development to 423 teachers

  • Assisted 675 ABE/GED students with academic, career and post secondary counseling

  • Coordinated two regional Career Fairs providing information to 399 Adult and Community Education students
