What Family Literacy Can Do

Family Literacy programs work to enhance children’s school readiness and parents’ efforts to support their children’s development and learning.

Family Literacy builds on the following endeavors:

  • Age-appropriate education services to prepare children for success in school and life experiences.

  • Interactive literacy activities between parents and children (PACT).

  • Training for parents in being the primary teacher for their children and full partners in the education of their children.

  • Parent literacy training that leads to economic self sufficiency
