Achievement Level Descriptions |
|
|---|---|---|
Achievement Level Descriptions (ALDs) outline the specific student expectations at each grade and subject for each of the five Achievement Levels. |
| History of ALDs |
|---|
Achievement Level Descriptions (ALDs) explain what students at each Achievement Level should know and be able to do at every grade level (3-12) and for each subject (Reading, Mathematics, and Algebra 1). The ALDs were developed by committees of Florida educators and then posted for public review and comment. Standard setting committees (made up of Florida educators) included these documents with other information to recommend Achievement Level cut scores on the reporting scale for the new FCAT 2.0 and Algebra 1 EOC Assessment. The Florida Department of Education (FDOE) organized the ALDs by reporting categories and uses them for test design, scoring, and reporting purposes. The documents are posted on the FDOE website: FCAT 2.0 - http://fcat.fldoe.org/fcat2/alds.asp EOC Assessments - http://fcat.fldoe.org/eoc/alds.asp |
ALDs Format |
|---|
| The School District of Palm Beach County’s (SDPBC) Divisions of Performance Accountability and Curriculum reformatted the ALDs by benchmark for each subject and grade level instead of reporting categories. The SDPBC ALDs format shows the benchmark progression from one Achievement Level to the next based on the Next Generation Sunshine State Standards (NGSSS) benchmark(s). |
