Middle & Secondary Requirements
In addition to number 1, Middle and High School teachers must comply by submitting one of the following documents:
A valid Florida Temporary or Professional certificate showing the corresponding subject(s) for the subject area(s) or course(s) for which they are assigned to teach
or
An approved High, Objective, Uniform State Standard of Evaluation (HOUSSE) Plan completed prior to its expiration on June 30, 2006
or
An approved out of county/state Highly Qualified Verification Form for each grade level(s) and content area(s) assigned to teach [Download the verification form]
or
A valid certification issued by the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS) for the appropriate core content/grade level [SEE NOTE BELOW]
Social Science Teachers: A certificate in Middle Grade Social Science 5-9, Social Science 6-12, or Middle Grades Intergrated Curriculum 5-9 used to teach social science courses requires a passing score on the appropriate level social area exam.
