Use the menu above to access information on the SEQ.
The School Effectiveness Questionnaire (SEQ) has been administered every year since 2002. The student version of the SEQ and the parent version of the SEQ are administered on a rotating basis. See the SEQ Guide for the schedule.
Revised and Now Online: The Teacher/Staff Version of the SEQ
The Teacher/Staff version of the SEQ is open for participation from January 10 to February 24, 2012. All teachers and other staff members can participate. In order to help guarantee anonymity of responses and increase teacher/staff participation in the SEQ, the FY2011 teacher/staff version of the SEQ will be administered online.
What has changed?
The teacher/staff version of the SEQ has changed in content.
A 16-member committee of school and central-office administrators revised the SEQ content after a review of national climate surveys and the District’s need for more information related to issues affecting our schools.
The teacher/staff version of the SEQ has changed in administration.
The SEQ is available online from January 10 to February 24, 2012. All teachers and other school staff members will receive an email from ActiveCampaign, a third-party purveyor of online surveys. The teacher/staff version of the SEQ can be completed from any computer with internet access and takes about 15 minutes to complete.
The Classroom Teachers Association has reviewed the revised teacher/staff version of the SEQ, supports the content revisions, and also supports online participation.
Who can participate in the teacher/staff online version of the SEQ?
All teachers and other school staff members can participate.
What about the student version of the SEQ?
The student version of the SEQ will be open for participation next school year (2012-2013). The student version of the SEQ has also changed in content. Administration of the student version of the SEQ will continue as a scan-form but students will now have a scan-form that allows ink or pencil for filling in their responses.
What about the parent version of the SEQ?
The parent version of the SEQ is open for participation from January 10 to February 24, 2012. The parent version of the SEQ has changed in content this year. The parent version of the SEQ will also continue as a scan-form but will allow both ink or pencil for filling in responses.
What happens with the results?
The Department of Research and Evaluation will receive anonymous responses directly from ActiveCampaign. SEQ reports are available in the Educational Data Warehouse (EDW.)
How is the SEQ used?
The SEQ provides data that will
- Allow schools to see a comparison of respondents’ perceptions concerning specific areas of school functioning,
- Provide the opportunity for staff discussions on perceived strengths and weaknesses in the school,
- Assist staff in identifying strategies to improve areas of perceived weakness, and
- Provide information to schools on how they are doing compared to a standard, to themselves, and to similar schools.
