
Celebrate Florida's Five Centuries of Rich History
Since this year marks the 500th anniversary of Juan Ponce de Leon’s arrival to La Florida, the Florida Department of State has launched a new initiative to celebrate our state’s rich, diverse history. Viva Florida 500, which kicked off last week, continues throughout 2013, and includes more than 200 events throughout the state.
