Indoor Air Quality Enhancements

The District is committed to protecting and enhancing the indoor environmental quality in our schools. We do this by:

 

    • Performing proactive indoor air quality inspections and responding to indoor air quality complaints quickly and efficiently
    • Implementing a "Green Cleaning" program in nearly all District schools, which has effectively eliminated the use of harsh cleaning chemicals
    • Enforcing the provisions of the Board's Indoor Air Quality policy - this includes a ban on air fresheners, scented candles and other sources of potential contaminants
    • Installing, to the greatest extent possible, furniture and furnishings in new schools that do not contain urea formaldehyde or which may off-gas contaminants
