Wellfield Protection
Most of the drinking water in Palm Beach County comes from groundwater and some of this water comes from areas close to our schools (sometimes directly underneath). As a result, the District has to comply with its permit to store chemicals in these areas and must store them in a way that minimizes the chance of spills. These schools must also inspect the storage areas on daily basis to document that no spills have occurred. For more information about wellfield protection click here.

Wellhead located on the property of one of the District's schools.
