Assistive Technology Definition:

"any item, piece of equipment, or product system… that is used to increase, maintain, or improve the functional capabilities of a child with a disability"

 

Local Assistive Technology Specialist (LATS) Responsibilities:

●Assess students who have difficulty accessing the curriculum with standard tools

●Prescribe/recommend appropriate solutions and/or devices to help the student access the curriculum

●Train staff, student, and parents

●Assist with technical problems
