Mitten, Gary Dear Mr. Mets,
I want to express my sincere thanks to you, Mr. Mitten and his crew for the “extreme makeover” of the Adult Education Center’s cafeteria! This was a considerable undertaking, transforming an outdated and under-utilized area into spacious, efficient and manageable storage.
I am enclosing some befor-and-after photos of this project, to date, which includes both cabinets and areas that are now secured with doors. I have been advised that work will resume in about six months but, in the meantime, we are taking immediate advantage of all the improvements.
Again, many thanks to you, Mr. mitten and his team!
Sincerely,
Dr. Cynthia R. Smith, Principal

Mr. Sanches,

I have been an Assistant Principal for the past 30 years in Palm Beach County. Of those 30 years I have worked with the Zone Teams for 25. The reason I am telling you this is so you can see the broad perspective of time I have been able to observe and work with the many different teams over the years. I feel this zone team with Steve Jernigan as the leader is the best I have ever had the pleasure of working with. Steve and every one of the team members go above and beyond the call of duty, each and every time they work at Spanish River. The team completes the work orders in an expeditious manner and their quality of workmanship is always excellent. I as well as the entire faculty at Spanish River wish
to commend these gentlemen for their service to our School and to Palm Beach County as a whole. Please recognize them for the outstanding work that they do.

Myers, Ron Good Morning Ron!
Thank you for meeting with us yesterday to make plans for the K-2 playground. I have sent an email this morning requesting the amount of $ available and to make the money accessible asap. As soon as that happens, I need to do a waiver and a P.O. to encumber the money. As soon as we can get the plan and get everything approved, I would like to move forward with the project. Also, we have the Media Center project on hold until the end of school. Will they be able to start right away? Do I need to close the Media Center early so they can get this work done? What is the time frame for starting and finishing? Tell me your retirement date again? I would really like for my projects to be completed before you leave if possible. I know that when you retire I will be starting over with someone, and I just pray that the person will be as efficient and accommodating as you have been. It has been a pleasure working with you, Ron. I know that you will attend to whatever we need at Belvedere and will help me work it out for the best possible outcome. I will truly miss you when you leave.
Sincerely,
Diane Mahar, Principal

School Board Visit

Good Morning Everyone,

I cannot thank you enough for the wonderful job you did yesterday. The clear instructional focus was very evident in all classrooms visited. The school board was very impressed with the instructional strategies being executed by the teaching staff. In fact one of the board members asked how do we recruit staff at Boynton
High because they were so impressed with what they observed. The work being done with are Dream Days put some board members into tears. They were so proud to see a staff come together for such important work. I wish I could have made it to all of your rooms to show you all off. I let them know that the consistency in our school of effective instruction is the best they will see anywhere. They were also impressed by the cleanliness of the school, the warm welcoming staff, BASA and the delicious foods created by the culinary students.

Again, thanks for all you do for the students of Boynton High!

McKinnon, Tom

Dear Mr. Sanches,

It is with great pleasure that I write to you today to commend the work of Mr. Tom McKinnon, who I have had the pleasure of working with as Academic Construction Liaison
during the last five years and two separate major construction and renovation projects.

Our latest project has now been completed, and it was very successful; not just in the outcome of a very effective product, but also throughout the planning and actual work phases.
Having had previous and recent experience as principal of an elementary school experiencing such a project, I know of many of the intricacies and details which must be addressed.
lowe much gratitude to Tom McKinnon for helping me to prepare for the ongoing implications of the project as they relate to the multitude of school needs; and for assisting me to
maintain the focus of the school upon the academic requirements of the students and staff..

Most importantly, allow me to thank you and your staff for maintaining a high level of standards throughout our project from the earliest planning stages right to the laying of the last
piece of sod. Without Tom's help this would not have been possible. His assistance provided me and my staff a sense of consistency and confidence in knowing that when we needed
to make a telephone call, we knew who would be answering the phone. In every such case Mr. McKinnon replied quickly, efficiently, and professionally. He took care and pride in the work
he supervised, and we, therefore had few issues to address.
Again, I cannot think of any way to better describe my admiration for the work which Tom McKinnon performed for us. I appreciate all of his efforts.

WOW !!! Christina you’ve outdone yourself !!!
THANK YOU for helping Okeeheelee improve on our recycling effort.

My principal was so glad to see the tall plastic containers come in this morning and John was very helpful. It is amazing what can be generated when a whole school works together to recycle. Our problem is definitely growing . We are filling four of the large blue 96 gal a week !!! and sometimes don’t have any empty ones.

We are considering placing two additional one by the new building which houses the 7th graders. Can we get two additional ones?
We have six at this point and they are on “rotation” . They pick three full ones , we only have three empty ones. We can get a four–four
rotation. ( They only pick up on Mondays too )

Christina, please let me know if getting two additional large 96 gal. bins is possible.
THANK YOU THANK YOU

Caraballo, Ben
Krzeminski, Joe
Saputo, John
I have had a work open since 2/7/11, work order # 178 for the a/c blowing warm air in the managers office, today's date 3/24/11. The original one was dated 1/18/11 # 1772898 description: a/c in managers office NOT working. Today the Zone Team came in, I asked if their was anyway they could look at it, since no one had come in prior. All I had to do was ask and they went right to work on it! John Saputo, Joe Krzeminski, and Ben Caraballo were all in checking to see what they could possibly do to help fix it. They were in my office and up on the roof. This is a very “Special Team” to be so verstalile and just pick up losse ends. There help went “FAR” beyond there job description. For this I am very grateful. And I now have A/C in my office. Thank you for being the “BEST Zone Team out there. And yes I have been at others schools in my years as a manager and I can honestly say this with good conscience. Joan

and now Coral Sunset and the South Area Zone team from painters to electricians, and Scott Whalen. They are an awesome group of people
to work with. They always know what to do and how to do it. They work well together and always get the job done quick and painlessly for us
at the school level. Our schools could not and would not look or function the way they do without your team.

Please give them a round of applause for all their hard work and efforts. It is well deserved and long overdue.

Thanks for making feel welcome as a new principal in the South Area.

Jim,
Happy New Year! I hope you and your family had a wonderful vacation. As the McKesson Shelving project comes to an end,
I would like to express my appreciation for everything you have done to make this small miracle happen. It has created a safer
and cleaner working environment for all involved. Not only will the Departments at the McKesson Building benefit from this project,
but I believe the school district will also benefit from the remodeling project with the increase in storage capacity. Ron Myers should
be commended for his efforts in the project. After all, he had to put up with me for a few months! I should also mention that the contractor,
as well as, TC Architects, Inc did a superb job accommodating our needs as they worked to complete the job.

Fred & Terry,
Thank you for your assistance during Retrofit. Our teachers and students very much appreciate the technology improvements.
On Tuesday Terry requested an update.
Update:
5-110 No Audio Enhancement…..This was not on the list of missing items (discussed in April). The team that reviewed this room saw the speakers
on the wall and assumed it was Audio Enhancement. We did not discover until recently that Audio Enhancement was not there. This is an error on
the part of our school. We are hopeful this can still be added to our Retrofit. Terry…please consider adding this to our project. Thank you.

Good Afternoon,

I would like to take this opportunity to commend Mr. Powell and his landscape crew for the wonderful job that they do at Citrus Cove.
They arrive early with a large crew, work quickly, and leave my campus clean and orderly. They go above and beyond each and every
day that they show up on my campus. They are always willing do whatever is needed to help to beautify our school. The workers and Mr. Powell are always pleasant. Mr. Powell stops in to see if there are any problems and takes care of areas of concern without being asked. I am very happy to have Mr. Powell and his crew as our landscapers.
I would also like to commend Paul McIndoo, the members of the zone team and all other technicians that are assigned to our school. They are always very helpful and work hard to make sure they can take care of as many work orders as possible when they are here. They check in with me and handle things in a very professional manner. If time permits, they will do anything else that is needed. They are a great group of people to work with. I appreciate everything they have done for us especially when we had a terribly case of bees in the ceiling of one of my buildings. This manner was taken care of in a very timely manner and I also learned a few things from their expertise.

I feel very fortunate to have these two groups working at Citrus Cove. They are an asset to our district.

Dan,
Kudos to your department! When the electricians came down to our office three days ago to adjust the lightening on the pole outside our office, they did a “little” adjustment for me. I do not need to use my flashlight any more. They adjusted the lights on the pole so that the lights face the parking lot and the walk way. Hooray!  The flashlight will only need to be used now when the lights actually go out during a storm. Thank you to your department.

Troung, Thanh

Good morning Mr. Cromartie,
All to often do we hear about things that aren't being done or just complaints only. I wanted to to share with you the thoroughness and professionalism of two A/C guys  that exemplify great employees. I was recently appointed Assistant Principal of William T. Dwyer High School and one of my responsibilities is facilities. As you may know,
our A/C system is old and is very problematic. Joseph Simmons and his supervisor Tong (Asian gentleman with a pony tail) have come out to Dwyer and repaired numerous
air handlers, thermostats, exhaust vents, etc., to where the teachers have noticed. Teachers have stated that it's been years ...... since the A/C in their classrooms has been cold. Your two guys are direct and follow through with what they say. They have brought Dwyer's A/C system back to "functioning" status and they were both very professional
and explained very clearly of what was going on with our system. I just wanted to let you know .......... that we need more guys like these two. They represent what professionals
should be.
Kind Regards,

Corbiere, Alicia

We just caught our largest error for a utility bill. We received a new water bill for Plumosa. The bill showed usage of 2.4 million gallons for 7 days. Cost of the bill=$1,132,924. Finance could not put the bill in since we approve new accounts. They contacted Alicia and said it seemed high. Alicia received the bill and would not approve payment. I then called the City of Delray and told them the gallons and dollar amount were wrong. We received a corrected bill for $1414. We had to correct this bill due to the fact that they were charging us for a deposit.

Good Afternoon, I wanted to take a moment to recognize one of our wonderful Zone Team members, Mike Baker. Mike is an asset to our School District. He is proactive and quickly identifies and corrects issues. He is a dedicated and hard worker. He was able to correct the electrical issues we were having with our marquee and our exterior security lighting. We have had issues with our marquee for the past 2 years. As soon as Mike was assigned to help us, the problem was fixed. We are very pleased with our entire Zone Team. They get a lot accomplished during the day! Please let the fabulous Zone Team know they are appreciated. Thanks!

Joe and his crew have done a remrkable job of delivering quality construction on time and on or under budget. They have leveraged the revenue from the sales tax for the new construction well. The facilities management division based on my view of schools in Boynton Beach, also represents
a very good balance and use of fiscal resources and appropriate maintenance of structures. I will be suggesting that our Facilities staff consider attending the session next week.

Thank you and your team that installed the bench at Roosevelt Middle School for our 7th grader Kyle R. It took a lot of time and effort on your part (and creativity) to convert the bench to meet his needs. You also installed a part that slows down our door so he doesn’t keep getting banged into by it. You guys did a greatjob and I really appreciate what you’ve done to improve the life of our student and others who need the improved facilities. I’m sharing this email with my administration because you deserve the positive attention!

It really helped out to have the 2 extra staff members here in the midst of our shortage. I just wanted to let you know that I really appreciate you and to tell you that you are outstanding! Have a great evening,

Summerell, Terry

Tom…Before it slips off of my radar… I wanted to let you know what a terrific experience utilizing the Royal Palm Beach High School Auditorium was, for us here at The Education Network. We do productions all around the District in a variety of auditoriums/theatres, and working with Terry Summerell was as good as it gets for us old TV dogs. He’s got that place wired and prepped better than any facility that I’ve been in, and was “a pro” from the get-go. A lot of venues (and people, for that matter) don’t get the praise that they deserve, but both were wonderful for us, and we genuinely appreciate it. Thanks…

Good Morning Mr. Sanchez,

We have gotten off to a great start here at Timber Trace this school year. Our school campus and grounds look better than ever. I have to say
none of this would be possible without the support of our zone team. We have been able to update and modernize some areas in our office, media
center and cafeteria thanks to the team. Joe and Greg have done an outstanding job of constructing shelving and work areas using some basic materials.  We greatly appreciate all of the team! Their support and hard work at Timber Trace has made a tremendous difference. Thank you!

Johns, Charles
Pedone, Tony
I just wanted you to know, that after 4 years of requesting a maintenance project be done – I returned to school to a wonderful surprise.
I am the art teacher at Discovery Key elementary, and for the past few years, have asked that my wooden tables be sanded and varnished. Art is a very creative process, and sadly, the tables that we have allow the paints to stain into the tables. I tried and tried to cover and clean, but it just wasn’t enough. It was a disaster. I was told last year, that this was not a priority – which I understood and therefore was expecting that I was going to have to sand them myself. I want to thank you, as well as the gentlemen that did the actual labor (Charles Johns and Tony Pedone) for making the children a priority. The students are so much more respectful of the tables which is an important trait to learn. Thank you very much for beautifying our class room, and Charles and Tony, for doing such a great job for us!

Regards,

Usher, Angela Angela,
Thank you for all your effort in coordinating the school polling site issue with schools and the Supervisor of Election Office. I know many schools feel that this is an imposition that takes away from student achievement and student safety. I also realize the Supervisor of Election often fells that the schools are not cooperating to the extent required by statute. By all indication we  had a successful and uneventful election yesterday in our schools. I know you deserve a lot of the credit based on your efforts
with schools. Again, thank you. Joe

Dave, I would like to thank you for all of your assistance this summer with our modular project. It is nice to know that I can always count on you and to know that you always respond to my needs.
Your many visits on campus have helped move along the project, which will now allow us to start on time. My thanks to you and your staff for a job well,

Fran

Grimsley, Sydell Mr. Montgomery,
I want to commend Sydell for the work she did getting Greenacres Elementary ready after summer school. She worked alongside my staff and several of the other schools who sent help and we were ready for the students. I really didn’t think it would happen because there was so much to do but she motivated her people and worked just as hard as they did and the outcome was terrific. I knew you would want to know.

Trochet, Ken

Martin…..The ECO recently completed an IAQ project at Odyssey Middle school that involved a significant amount of water damage in two science classrooms due to plumbing leaks.
This was a very challenging project due to an abbreviated remediation schedule & the removal of myriad science cabinets, lab counter-tops & hallway lockers. Ken Trochet, Facility Coordinator
provided in-valuable assistance to the ECO with timely arrangements for plumbing disconnections, repairs & re-installations of fixtures including numerous sinks, faucets & traps. Quite simply,
this project would have never been completed on-time & on-budget without Ken’s involvement. He not only provided important construction-related advice, but also handled many on-site logistics & school support issues.
Thank-you & Ken for your assistance with this work……..Paul

Jernigan, Steve Hello to All,
On Monday July 12th my husband George Pettry (Task Leader South Area 2) was not feeling very well and told his foreman Steve Jernigan.
Steve asked him what was the matter and recognized the symptoms of a possible stroke. George told him it was probably “no big deal” and
he would wait and punch out at 4:30 and go home. Steve was very persistent about George going to the hospital and get checked. Not only
did Steve persuade George but, he followed him (yes, George drove himself) to the hospital and stayed with him until I was able to get there.  Without going into a great detail, George did have a stroke due to the collapse of a blood vessel that supplies blood to the brain and his blood pressure was extremely high. Needless to say, I owe this man more than you will know. If it hadn’t been for his quick response and determination,  George might not be here today or he could’ve suffered a worse case scenario. There is not very many people who would go through great extreme’s  to follow someone and stay with them at the hospital in their time of need. Steve Jernigan should be recognized for such a wonderful thing he did. He  went beyond to call of duty and I (and George) are very, very grateful for him.

Manchester, Scott
I wanted to take a moment to tell you how wonderful my zone team is. I have had the pleasure of working with Scott Manchester, Dave Black and John Chitty for the past 2 years at Lighthouse Elementary School.  I recently got a promotion to Grove Park Elementary and one of my concerns was who my zone team would consist of. When I found out that I would have the same zone team, I was more than elated. John and Dave, under the direction of Scott have really done an outstanding job at Lighthouse and have already been at my new school and continued with their fabulous professionalism and quality craftsmanship. I truly appreciate all that they do, how easy they are to work with, and the quality of their work.
Thank you all for everything that you do for our school centers,
Sincerely,
Eric M. Gross, Principal Grove Park Elem.

I want to thank you and your team for the incredible work you have done with the landscaping here at Timber Trace Elementary.  The planting outside of the portables has created a whole new atmosphere as you walk along the corridors. Where there was once mud and sandy spaces between doorways there is now beautiful plants and landscaping. It has truly created a whole new  environmentally friendly look at the school. I can’t wait for the students and teachers to arrive and see the new butterfly garden area as well. It looks fantastic! As in the past, you have worked diligently and efficiently to support the beautification efforts our staff and parents have prioritized for Timber Trace. Thank you again for your hard work and dedication.
