About Us

Mission: The Office of Continuous Improvement (OCI) strives to improve quality, economy and productivity in the Facilities Management Division. OCI researches and disseminates ways for the Facilities Management Division to provide unsurpassed educational facilities for students and faculty in the Palm Beach County public schools. This thrust similarly extends toward making optimized business places for the School District’s support staff and suppliers, and to serve community groups who use the District’s facilities.

Mission success will be achieved through administering recurring self-assessments and evaluations, improving procedures and performance, and carefully directing resources and training toward meeting stated objectives.

Objectives:
Four objectives serve as a roadmap for fulfilling OCI’s mission. A fifth assures that OCI is operating at the forefront of professional standards.

1. Continuously evaluate processes, identify improvements, and assist with implementing those improvements.

2. Identify the resources required to deliver high quality services, assist with obtaining those resources, and continuously optimize their employment.

3. Identify staff-development needs and training sources.

4. Identify and implement educational and industry best practices; compile divisionwide lessons learned.

5. Guide the division to ISO 9001 and Six Sigma certification.

Organization: The head of the Office of Continuous Improvement is an internal management consultant supporting all Facilities Management departments and reporting directly to the Chief of Facilities Management. The OCI leader is able to recruit personnel throughout the Division and District to form committees and teams to achieve OCI’s objectives.
