| SES Tutoring |
Supplemental Educational Services (SES) are offered to students who attend a Title I school and scored Level 1 or 2 on the FCAT. SES are tutorial services in reading, math or science. The tutorial services are provided by state-approved agencies before school, after school or on weekends. The District does not provide transportation for tutoring. Parents of eligible students must apply to receive SES and choose a tutoring provider. Enrollment forms and information on state-approved providers are distributed to the parents of eligible students at the beginning of the school year. Parents of eligible students are invited to attend provider fairs to obtain more information. The Florida Department of Education sets the maximum dollar amount per student that can be paid to the tutoring agencies for their services. It may not be possible to serve all students who apply for services. If demand for SES services exceeds available funds, priority will be given to the lowest achieving students. In Florida, tutoring must begin no later than October 15th. Each school that is required to offer SES to students has an SES Contact. The SES Contact can obtain SES enrollment and provider information from the Cayen System - SES Program.
