VOTE for Your Favorite Second Annual Alcohol Prevention Poster Contest
Over 770 Palm Beach County students from 67 schools submitted entries to the Second Annual Alcohol Prevention Poster Contest. Their posters promote a clear educational message encouraging an alcohol-free lifestyle for youth. The posters were created using both digital and freestyle media. Now it’s your turn. Select your favorite from among the 15 semifinalists – vote for one elementary, one middle, and one high school entry. Voting will be open from January 11 – 18, 2012. You can vote once per day per for each email address. To vote, click on a category below. |
Things to keep in mind as you vote: 1. How will this poster look inside a school bus? 2. Does the poster give a clear, POSITIVE, no alcohol use message? 3. Will the poster capture the students' attention?
The top six posters (two each from elementary, middle, and high school) will be displayed on all district school buses. Winners will receive $100 each plus Adobe Photoshop software. Semifinalists and top posters from each school will be featured at the 2012 South Florida Fair in the Bink Glisson Museum at Yesteryear Village through January 29. Winners will be notified by January 20 and invited to attend the Awards Ceremony on Monday, February 20, 2012. The contest is being sponsored by a collaboration of organizations: Student Intervention Services, Public Affairs, and Transportation Department in the School District of Palm Beach County; the Acreage Loxahatchee Rotary Club; Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office; Palm Beach County Substance Awareness Coalition; Adobe; and the South Florida Fair.
