Program Management Department
Major Projects: Administers the design and construction of new, modernized, and/or replacement schools, additions and other Capital Improvements of existing facilities. Manages project program development, project budgets, schedules and personnel resources while working in concert with school-centers, district administrators and community partners throughout the design / construction process. Educational Programming: Preparation of educational specifications (that prescribe the facility space needs and their spatial relationships) and management of the Florida Inventory of School Houses. Interior Coordination: Works closely with the Principals and Academic Construction Liaisons to coordinate color, patterns and furnishings.
Program Management Roles
- Assist with project budgets for Five-Year capital Plan
- Coordinate and schedule all school construction from Five -Year plan
- Communicate with Real Estate and Environmental on needs for different schools
- Coordinate with Purchasing the RFP’s for A/E, D/B, and CM@ Risk
- Oversee all construction, contracts, changes, permitting, code issues to insure compliance
- Coordinate with A/P or Principals for school turnover and transition
- Verify that all owner maintenance manuals and training have taken place
- Verify that one year walk through has taken place.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Department of Program Management is one of the departments with the Division of Facilities Management. The primary responsibilities of the Department of Program management is the design, construction and start up of all of the new and renovated educational and ancillary facilities for the School District of Palm Beach County. These responsibilities include the construction of new schools, modernizations, major renovations and additions. The Department of Program Management, in conjunction with other departments, helps to coordinate projects from conception to completion. The Department of Program Management is committed to these responsibilities in order to provide a safe and healthy learning environment for all students attending facilities of the School District of Palm Beach County.
