According to the Centers for Disease Control, there has been a dramatic increase in obesity in the U.S. during the past 20 years. Maintaining a healthy diet is critical to preventing and controlling diseases. Do you have a great (healthy!) recipe you want to share with others?
We are asking for recipes straight from your kitchens-that are delicious and good for you. The Healthy Recipe Contest is open to all school district employees, and is designed to encourage healthier food choices. Participants may submit revamped or original "from scratch" healthy recipes in a variety of categories and meal times.

All submitted recipes should include:
Your Name and Department/School
Ingredients, including measurement (cup, tablespoon, etc.)
Cooking instructions
Number of servings/serving size
Source if revamped recipe
Photo if available
If you have the nutrition information, please submit the following (fill in whatever you may have available) per serving:
Calories
Total fat (grams)
Saturated fat (grams)
Protein (grams)
Carbohydrates (grams)
Fiber (grams)
Sodium (mg)
Cholesterol (mg)
Please send your healthy recipes to Kim Sandmaier, Wellness Coordinator at Kimberly.Sandmaier@palmbeachschools.org and it may be included as part of our Employee Wellness HealthyLiving Cookbook. Prizes will be awarded to those individuals who submit recipes.
We are also looking for student’s to submit artwork for the cover, or throughout the book. If you have anyone with any interest please let me know.
Please submit recipes no later than March 16, 2012. One recipe per school or department will be featured. Employee Wellness will compile each school/department winning recipe and publish them in a cookbook. Limited cookbooks will be provided to Wellness Champions to use as a fundraiser for their wellness program.
