Wellness Success Story I'm happy to report I'm now Tobacco-Free! With lots of will power and the desire to do it. I officially quit smoking in March of 2011. I didn't use any resources, simply the nicotine patch for a week. Besides improved health, its great to not have to pay the $50.00 a month tobacco surcharge. I've been tobacco-free for almost a year and I encourage you to quit too. You will feel better and stronger for it.Thank you!- James Gallon In 2011 I made a goal to eat healthier including more whole grains and poultry in my diet. Not only do I feel better but my cholesterol has significantly improved. I'm amazed at the impact it has had. It's proof that small changes can make a big difference. Thank you! - Patricia Fouchet
Before having to complete the new Wellness Rewards requirements I had seen multiple doctors over many years, telling them that I felt sick all the time. I was basically told that they could not find anything really wrong with me, to the point of giving me depression meds (which I didn't take, so sad). When I did the wellness blood work, I got a call that the doctor needed to see me ASAP. Turns out that my liver numbers were elevated and I had to have my gallbladder removed immediately. The surgery was done and this is the best I have felt in years!!! If it had not been for that wellness blood work I don't know how much longer I would have suffered. So for anyone that is complaining about having to do the wellness process; it works! Thank you!-Susan Norris
In December 2011 I ran a 12 mile obstacle course through swamps and mud, over hills, and through tunnels. It was called the "tough mudder". A year ago, I would never have signed up for this race. Inspiring others to take care of themselves and to challenge themselves inspired me to do the same. I am proud to say I am a "Tough Mudder" and a Wellness Champ! Thank you! Michelle Burns
When I was in college, I was 50 pounds overweight. This was over 20 years ago, but since then, and to avoid this ever again, I have become an avid fitness enthusiast. I am currently a group fitness instructor at LA Fitness where I help others keep weight off. Several teachers with whom I work take my classes every day! I wake wise choices through portion control, and stay busy being active, all which impact my health in a positive way. Thank you!Jennifer Magrath-Singer
