In the Percent Proficient column, enter the percent of students in each subgroup who were proficient (scored FCAT level 3 and above).
The calculator will automatically calculate the percentage for the new proficiency target needed to meet AYP through Safe Harbor. The subgroup must additionally meet all other FDOE requirements.
According to The Florida Department of Education's (FDOE's) Guide to Calculatin Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) Technical Assistance Paper:
In Safe Harbor, the percentage of non-proficient students must be decreased by at least 10% from the prior year in the subject being evaluated. In addition, the subgroup must meet AYP requirements in writing proficiency and the graduation rate.
