ISA: Dual Language Program

  • New Horizons is proud to be the first elementary school in Palm Beach County to be recognized as an International Spanish Academy Dual Language School. Students enrolled in New Horizons Elementary School's International Spanish Academy receive instruction in two languages - English and Spanish. The goal for students participating in this program is to exit New Horizons fully bilingual, biliterate, and bicultural. Not only are students immersed in language but also culture. Our school recruits teachers from Spanish-speaking countries all over the world and benefits from a unique partnership with the Education Consulate within the Ministry of Spain that allows our school to recruit teachers directly from Spain. Families interested in their child(ren) participating in this unique and successful program do not need to worry about living within our school's assigned boundary. Access to our school's International Spanish Academy is granted to all students via a Choice School's Lottery Application. More information can be found on the School District Choice website.

New Horizons also offers a Dual Language Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten (VPK) class. Registration in this fee-based program can be completed in the school's Main Office daily from 8:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Students in this program will experience a similar Dual Language Immersion program as students enrolled in our Kindergarten through Fifth Grade International Spanish Academy. Special preference will be given to applicants whose sibling is already enrolled in our International Spanish Academy. Otherwise, students will be accepted in the program in the order they apply on a first come first served basis.
