Music

  • Current Indie Artists of 70s and 80s Mainstream Rock

    Jupiter Community High School
    April 25 - June 13, 2023
    Tuesday 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Description: If you love listening to music, you'll love this course. The course is taught by the owner of Live365 Radio Station, Rock on Neon, which receives thousands of song submissions every month, most of which are from indie and small-label artists. With technology today, musicians can easily produce music at home and many do. Much of this music is from individuals who grew up listening to music in the 60s, 70s, and 80s and their music reflects that. If you are someone who wonders why the new music of today isn't up to the standards of yesterday, let me tell you it is. You just have to know where to look, and taking this course is a good start. In this course you'll find new favorite songs and artists, most of whom you would never have found on your own (unless you listen to Rock on Neon ? or a station like it). The station plays familiar and unfamiliar music. It's motto is "some that you recognize, some that you've hardly even heard of", which is a quote from the song "Celluloid Heroes" by The Kinks written by Ray Davies.
