As an incentive to our current employees, and to fill critical positions, we are excited to announce the Employee Referral Bonus Program for the positions of School Bus Drivers for a limited time.
Basic Requirements

- To be eligible for the referral bonus, the applicant must be hired into Bus Driver Position (Job Code 33190, 33210)
- The Applicant must not have been employed by the Palm Beach County School District within the past ninety (90) calendar days.
- The Applicant must remain employed as a bus driver for thirty (30) calendar days after the completion of the training program.
Questions About the Referral Bonus

How many applicant referrals can an employee submit?
Any employee may submit as many employee referrals as they wish.
However, the maximum bonus for doing so is limited to $10,000 per employee, per fiscal year. -
Does the time spent in the required training program count towards the 30 days as a bus driver?
No. The 30-day period starts once the training program is completed.

What must the Applicant do for the referral bonus to be paid out to the referring employee?
The Applicant should identify the employee as the referring source on their online application when it is submitted. In addition, the Applicant (new hire) must remain employed for thirty (30) calendar days as a bus driver and not have received any disciplinary action after being hired.

Who is eligible to receive the $1,000 bonus?
All current full-time and part-time employees are eligible to receive a referral bonus except for the following:
- Employees whose regular, recurring jobs include the recruitment and hiring of employees.
- Any employee within the Division of Human Resources.
- Directors, Managers, Supervisor level or above, if the referred individual will directly or indirectly report to them.

What is the Bus Driver Referral Program?
The District will provide a $1,000 bonus to current District employees who refer an external Applicant who is selected and successfully employed as a School Bus Driver.
