At Polo Park Middle School, we participate in the Sunshine State Young Readers Award (SSYRA) program in a number of ways.

• We encourage the students to read the books selected by the SSYRA committee for summer reading as well as throughout the year.
• We celebrate student success through our SSYRA contests, SSYRA voting, and SSYRA ice cream sundae party.
• We participate in the Battle of the Books, based on the current SSYRA books and sponsored by our school district.
