Essential Agreements for CHAMPs in the Classroom

Voice Levels: 0 = Quiet 1 = Whisper 2 = Inside Talk 3 = Presentation 4 = Outside
Working Independently
C: No conversation.
H: Raise a QUIET hand for help.
A: You are working by yourself (independently).
M: No movement.
P: You are in your assigned area working on your task.
Working as a Group on the Carpet
C: No conversation unless directed by your teacher
(Example: “Turn & Talk”…Level 1 or 2 voice).
H: Raise a QUIET hand for help.
A: Working as a group on the carpet.
M: No movement.
P: Actively listening to your teacher and sitting in your
assigned area.
Working in a Small Group
C: Level 1 or 2 conversation voice.
H: Raise a QUIET hand for help, or “3 before me”.
A: Working collaboratively with your team members in
your small group.
M: Limited movement.
P: You will follow our IB Social Skills by showing
cooperation, open-mindedness, teamwork, and
support for each other while working on your task.
Hallway
C: No conversation
H: Raise a QUIET hand
A: Walking in ANY hallway (inside or outside).
M: You are walking.
P: You are walking in a single-file, straight line. You are
directly behind the person in front of you. Hands
are at your side or behind your back. You are on the
right-hand side on the red (or yellow) line. There are NO
spaces or gaps in the line.

Walking in the Stairwell
C: No conversation.
H: Raise a QUIET hand for help.
A: You are walking in the stairwell.
M: You are walking.
P: You are walking on the right hand side whether you
you are going up or down. You are holding the hand-
rail on your RIGHT. You are using “light footsteps”.
Going Through the Lunch Line
C: Indoor conversation (Level 1 or 2 voices).
H: Raise a QUIET hand for help.
A: Walking through the lunch line.
M: Limited.
P: You will wait in a QUIET line. You will politely ask for
your lunch. You will carry your tray with two hands
and then walk quietly to your table.
Eating in the Cafeteria
C: Level 1 or 2 conversation voice.
H: Raise a QUIET hand for help.
A: Eating your lunch in the cafeteria.
M: None…stay in your seat.
P: You are sitting with both feet under the table in
front of you. You are talking only with your table
group. You are using appropriate table manners.
Dismissal in the Cafeteria
C: No conversation
H: Raise a QUIET hand
A: Lining up for dismissal after eating lunch.
M: Limited.
P: You will pick up all trash around you. You will wait
until an adult dismisses you. You will WALK in a
single file line to dump your trash. Then you will
line up and wait QUIETLY for your teacher.

C: No conversation during the assembly.
H: Raise a QUIET hand for help.
A: Attending an assembly.
M: No movement.
P: You will enter the cafeteria QUIETLY. You will sit still while
actively listening to the performance. You will show good manners
caring, and appreciation by clapping appropriately when the
performance is over. You will wait quietly to be dismissed by your
teacher.
