Palm Beach County’s Most Senior Bus Driver Celebrates 42 Years of Service

Palm Beach County’s Most Senior Bus Driver Celebrates 42 Years of Service
The School District of Palm Beach County

For more than four decades, Myron White has been a reassuring daily presence for generations of students.

This year, White is celebrating a significant milestone. He is marking 42 years of dedicated service with the School District of Palm Beach County, earning him the distinction of being the District’s most senior bus driver. “The schedule was the most important for timing, when I was raising my kids,” White said, describing a big reason why he has stayed with the District for so many years.

Since stepping behind the wheel in 1984, White’s approach to his daily routes has been about focus and safety. He currently specializes in transporting Exceptional Student Education (ESE) students, a role that requires a particular level of care. According to his team, White always demonstrates compassion and patience for his students.

“I am a critical part of safely transporting students and setting them up for success,” he said.

Beyond safety, White’s secret to an enduring career lies in the connections he builds. He places a high priority on clear, consistent communication with school faculty, administrators, and parents, ensuring a supportive network surrounds every student he transports.

Described by his supervisors as being down-to-earth, he remains a steadfast reminder of the deep impact a dedicated professional can make on the lives of children before they even step into the classroom.

“It’s always great seeing the students' faces light up as they enter and leave the bus daily,” White said.

The District is currently offering competitive incentives to welcome new drivers to the team:

  • $5,000 Sign-On Bonus for applicants who already hold a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
  • $2,500 Sign-On Bonus for applicants without a CDL.
