School District of Palm Beach County Maintains “A” Rating

Today, the Florida Department of Education (FLDOE) announced that the School District of Palm Beach County has successfully maintained its “A” rating in the release of school and district grades for 2025-2026. This significant achievement reflects the dedication of public schools across Palm Beach County to pursuing and achieving academic excellence for all students.

School districts and schools receive letter grades from the FLDOE based on several factors including student performance on state tests, graduation rates, and student performance on advanced coursework. This year, 143 (84%) of District-operated schools were rated "A" or "B," up from 120 in the previous year. 

“Earning an 'A' rating from the Florida Department of Education once again reflects our ongoing commitment to sparking academic success and helping every student ignite their future,” Superintendent Mike Burke said. “I am especially proud of the remarkable progress made by many schools to boost their school grades this year, as well as the schools that stayed the course to maintain their high grades. This collective success is the direct result of the hard work of our students, teachers, school leaders, support staff, families, and community partners. With our voters' continued investment in our public schools, we can sustain this momentum and remain the best choice for education in Palm Beach County."

Notable Accomplishments for District-Operated Schools in the 2025-2026 School Year:

• 38 schools improved their letter grade.
  • Dwight D. Eisenhower K-8, Glade View Elementary, S.D. Spady Elementary, and West Gate Elementary earned “A” grades, up from “C” grades the year prior.
  • Once again, no District-operated schools received a “D” or “F” grade.
• 83% of high schools, 82% of middle schools, and 82% of combination schools were rated “A” or “B.”
• 54% of elementary schools are “A” rated. 
• The School District of Palm Beach County earned 68% of possible points to determine its “A” rating, up two percentage points from 66% in the 2024-2025 school year.

The School District’s success is also reflected in its record-setting 93.5% graduation rate., 86% of seniors engaged in college-level coursework, taking at least one Advanced Placement (AP), International Baccalaureate (IB), Cambridge's Advanced International Certificate of Education (AICE), or Dual Enrollment course, with 144 recent graduates earning an associate degree alongside their high school diploma. This commitment to career readiness is also evident in the 15,000 industry certifications earned by our students, equipping them with valuable skills for the workforce.

Local public schools are supported by Palm Beach County voters with a one-mill property tax that boosts teacher pay, supports arts programming and enhances campus security. In addition to the one-mill property tax, the District also thanks voters for their continued support of the half-penny sales tax renewed in 2024, which provides students with safe, modernized facilities and specialized equipment and technology to support various academic programs.
