Upcoming Riviera Beach Elementary School Transitions
The Palm Beach County School District is exploring an opportunity to improve student performance by modifying grade levels at certain elementary schools in Riviera Beach. With the support of School Board Member Mr. Edwin Ferguson and Regional Superintendent Dr. Camille Long, the School District plans to modify grade configurations at West Riviera and Dr. Bethune Elementary Schools starting in the 2026-2027 school year. This plan also includes the support of Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune Elementary School Principal Ms. Katrina Granger, Lincoln Elementary School Principal Ms. Alicia Taylor, Washington Elementary School Principal Dr. Vernicka Murray, and West Riviera Elementary School Principal Dr. Alisha McKnight.
The goal of these changes is to provide students with more targeted academic support and resources. By modifying the grade levels offered at these schools, the District hopes to create a more personalized and effective learning environment. By targeting our resources in these elementary schools, we can help to ensure that students in Riviera Beach have a better opportunity to succeed.
On Tuesday, September 24, 2024, a special town hall was hosted by School Board Member Mr. Edwin Ferguson at Suncoast Community High School, located at 1717 Avenue S., Riviera Beach, FL 33404.
