Learn English

English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) is an educational program to help adult students learn English. We offer ESOL classes all year. Adult ESOL programs are offered in our community schools, the Adult Education Center, and several satellite sites. The different skills that are covered in ESOL classes are listening, speaking, reading and writing.

Earning a State of Florida High School Diploma opens the door to new opportunities and pathways in your life! Upon successful completion of the GED® test, you are awarded a State of Florida high school diploma and are considered a high school graduate.

Everyone has a fun activity...indulge in yours! Fun & Leisure class offerings include arts & crafts, music, sports & fitness, cooking and a wide variety of personal enrichment topics. With hundreds of classes to choose from, students can explore a new hobby, develop new skills and cultivate new friendships.

ABOUT OUR PROGRAM

Our Home Health Aide Program is designed to prepare you for employment as a home attendant or a home health aide. We are dedicated to providing you with the highest quality education at an affordable rate. Our program integrates medical theory with skills-based, practical training. Upon completion of our program, you will be ready to work as a Home Health Aide.

Our Program will combine three different classes (total of 165 hours):

Basic Healthcare Worker (90 hours), Home Health Aide (75 hours), and ESOL classes

  • CPR (cardio-pulmonary resuscitation)

  • Client care skills
  • Clinical experiences

Home Health Aides (HHA) help the disabled and those with long-term illness perform activities of daily living. They often care for older adults who need assistance and provide relief for family caregivers.

DUTIES:

  • Monitor patient's condition by observing physical and mental conditions
  • Assist patients by providing personal services, such as, bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy patient environment
  • Help to organize a patient's schedule and plan appointments
  • Shop for groceries and prepare meals per patient's dietary specifications
