Renewing the Professional Vocational Certificate

Renewal Period
The Certificate is valid for five (5) years. Application for renewal must be submitted prior to expiration date or by June 10th of the renewal year.

Inservice points (ISP) can be earned via the eLearning system - This system also lets you monitor the points you have earned. After signing on to PeopleSoft as an employee, it is an option. For assistance on how to Print your ISP from eLearning, please review the How to How to Print My ISP or ESOL document.

Beacon Educator
Beacon Education is an online school for ISP and a faster and more affordable option than college courses.

College courses
Each credit must be worth 20 ISP and must earn a “C” or higher.

Teaching a College Level Course
You must be teaching during your certificate validity at an acceptable institution. This may be accepted the same as credit earned for that course. Verification must be submitted on college letterhead, signed by the registrar or dean including: Course name, prefix/number, semester hours earned and dates taught.
