SALARY INCREASES
The School Board has at the November 19, regular Board meeting approved salary increases for NBU (Staff Association members) as follows:
- A salary increase of 1.5% retroactive to July 1, 2025 was approved and should appear in your January 16 paycheck.
- A one-time bonus of 1.5% to be issued in the December 5 paycheck.
- New pay rates will go into effect on your December 19 paycheck.
The pay increases are equal to those being approved for the school administrators (principals and assistant principals).
The School Board and the Superintendent thought it important to provide the NBU employees increases at this time because it may be several months before other bargaining groups come to agreement with the District. CTA has declared an impasse for salary negotiations which will require a special magistrate intervention. SEIU and PBA have not come to agreement with the District for salary packages.
While a 1.5% salary increase + a 1.5% bonus are minimal increases, they reflect the lack of commitment the Florida State Legislature has made to public education in this state. In the past 2 years the Florida Legislature has only increased funding for public education by 1.6% and 1.5% respectively. In order to fund salary increases in public schools the Florida Legislature must make increases minimally to match the annual cost of living (COLA).
Please consider the lack of commitment by the Florida Legislature in the next election cycle.

Consultant Update
I have had the honor and privilege of service as your consultant since August 2023 and in my experiences I’ve learned that many are not aware of what the Staff Association Consultant does and can do for the members.
The Staff Association of the School District of Palm Beach County was established to give a voice to the many Non-Bargaining Unit (NBU) employees of the District.
School Board Policy 2.013 Recognition of Staff Association provides members of the Staff Association certain privileges of representation and a voice in decisions being made that impact the NBU employees/members in the District. The Consultant, along with the support of the Staff Association Board of Directors, works to provide the representation and voice for the NBU members.
