Florida Future Educators of America (FFEA) in middle and high schools and Teachers of Tomorrow (ToT) in elementary schools are K-12 teacher recruitment programs that are a part of the District's "Grow Our Own Teachers" initiative.

The programs provide a forum for students to become aware of career opportunities in education and nurture their interest in teaching as a career.  These programs are designed for aspiring educators and students who want to make a difference in their school and community.

The benefits of the K-12 school-based programs are:

  • Gaining hands-on classroom experiences led by teacher mentors
  • Teaching peers and younger students utilizing effective teaching strategies
  • Planning, implementing, and supporting service projects designed to support and improve the school and community
  • Developing leadership opportunities by holding key decision-making positions
  • Learning effective techniques for fundraising to support events and causes
