Heroes in the Classroom Sign-On Bonus

Eligible military veterans and first responders can earn a one-time $4,000 sign-on bonus by beginning their teaching career in Palm Beach after July 1, 2025.

Who is Eligible?

• Honorably discharged or retired military veterans and retired first responders
• No disciplinary actions in the past 5 years
• Hold a valid Florida teaching certificate (professional, temporary, or military pathway)
• Hired as a classroom teacher (PK-Adult Ed)
• Commit to two years of employment

Required Documents

• DD214 or First Responder Verification
• Florida Teaching Certificate or SOE Affidavit
• Signed a two-year commitment letter
• All documents must have SSN redacted
