Pre-Service Program

Program Description

The Pre-Service program matches eligible university students with qualified teacher mentors to complete field experience, practicum, and internship placements, and is managed by the Department of Professional Development. The program prepares individuals for teaching careers by providing comprehensive training, supervised field experience, and other activities to equip future teachers with the necessary knowledge and skills to be effective educators.

 Pre-Service Student Badging Requirements

All placements are confirmed by Professional Development; students are not allowed to “self place.”

Intern Student

District ID Badge

Field Print & District Onsite Clinic = Fingerprinting & drug screening required.

Students will contact their university for fingerprinting code and instructions. Once fingerprinted & screened, Students will be contacted by the district when the badge is ready for pick up.

Students will display a current District ID Badge while on campus.

Practicum Student

Raptor* Sign In &
University Student ID

Practicum students with a confirmed placement will use the school’s Raptor* system, located at the school’s single point of entry or main entrance, and will sign in for each visit.

Students will display a University ID Badge.

Field Observation Student

Field Observation students with a confirmed placement will use the school’s Raptor* system, located at the school’s single point of entry or main entrance, and will sign in for each visit.

Students will display a University ID Badge.

*Raptor instant screening; the school’s process to screen visitors using a government issued ID card (required).
