School Police Careers

The Palm Beach County School District Police Department is a fully accredited police agency serving the tenth-largest school district in the nation and the fifth-largest in the State of Florida serving more than 190,000 students, with over 186 schools.
Over 250 uniformed police officers are assigned to schools throughout Palm Beach County. These officers are responsible for campus patrol, initial case investigations, subsequent follow-up, and, when necessary, making arrests.
Additionally, the officers provide classroom presentations, counsel students and parents, engage students through mentoring, and serve as positive role models to help promote healthy relationships between youth and law enforcement.

Non-sworn positions in law enforcement encompass a wide array of roles which support the work of sworn staff within the Department.
These roles offer fantastic opportunities to work in the law enforcement field to fulfill the Department’s mission to create and maintain a safe, secure, and nurturing environment for our students and staff, and to serve the greater needs of the community by working in partnership with our schools and other local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies.
