Supporting schools and support departments to raise student achievement and provide a safe, secure learning environment is our paramount duty. The departments below all play a vital role in serving the District’s 186,000 students and 22,000 employees throughout Palm Beach County:
The Accounting Department is responsible for the financial operations of the District including financial reporting, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, asset management, charter school, grant, and cost accounting.
The Budget Department is responsible for development and monitoring of the District's operational budgets and ensures that all budgets are in compliance with state budget adoption and reporting requirements.
The Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Department is a team focused on supporting, maintaining, and enhancing the existing ERP PeopleSoft/Oracle applications while collaborating with business and technology partners to accelerate the adoption of automation and utilization of technology embedded in ERP applications.
The Quality Basic Education Act requires local school systems to report student enrollment in terms of Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) students. FTE reporting refers to the state funding mechanism based on the student enrollment and the educational services local school systems provide for the students
The Information Technology Department provides enterprise-wide innovative Technology environments and information access that empowers teachers, students, administrators, and community to make well-informed decisions, to share knowledge and collaborate, and to drive business process efficiency.
The Purchasing Department is dedicated to providing professional and efficient procurement services and supports the activities of the School District, which includes: education, financial responsibility and community service, through contracting for all commodities and services.
The Risk & Benefits Department is responsible for overseeing employee and student safety as well as auto and general liability claims. Additionally, we manage workers' compensation and employee benefit plans and administer the employee wellness program.
The Treasury Department is responsible for traditional treasury functions such as banking, merchant services, managing investments and issuance of debt. The department also is responsible for the capital budget.
