District Schools to Offer September, October SAT and ACT Testing

Students will be able to take the SAT and ACT at certain high schools in the School District of Palm Beach County in September and October.

The following health-related procedures will be in place to protect students and staff.

On test day:

  • All students will receive a temperature check.
    • Any student with a temperature of 100.4 degrees or higher will not be admitted and will be asked to reschedule. 
  • All students will be screened with health and wellness questions prior to check-in.
    • Those responding yes to any of the symptoms on the checklist will not be admitted and will be asked to reschedule. 
  • Students must bring their own pencils, calculator, and/or headphones (if applicable).  
  • Students are required to wear a facial covering.
    • Students without their own will be provided with a facial covering.
  • Multiple check-in stations will be provided to speed up the check-in process and accommodate the additional safeguards. 
  • Students will be situated six feet apart.
    • Visual signs will be on the floor and throughout the test center. 
  • Hand sanitizer and sanitizing wipes will be available at designated stations.
  • There will be frequent cleaning of high-touch surfaces at the test center, such as door handles, as well as restroom cleaning throughout the test day.

Health and Wellness Questions 

  • Students responding yes to any of these questions will be asked to leave the school.
  • Students will have the opportunity to reschedule with ACT or the College Board.
    • Have you tested positive for the virus that causes COVID-19 in the last 14 days?

    • Have you had any of these symptoms in the last 14 days: fever (100.4 degrees or higher), chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea?

    • Are you experiencing any of these symptoms at this time?

    • Have you been in close contact (within six feet for 15 minutes or longer) with someone displaying symptoms of COVID-19 in the past 10 days?

    • Have you been in close contact (within six feet for 15 minutes or longer) with someone who was asymptomatic, but diagnosed with COVID-19 or who has tested positive for the virus that causes COVID-19 in the last 10 days?

    • Have you traveled outside the country or to any high-risk locations in the last 14 days or been in close contact with someone who traveled to high-risk locations in the past 14 days?

 If you have additional concerns, please reach out to your child’s school test coordinator. Please be advised that space is limited.
