The School District of Palm Beach County reached an agreement with the Palm Beach County Classroom Teachers Association (CTA). The agreement received School Board approval on April 20, and will be finalized once approved by CTA membership.

This agreement covers the 2021-2022 school year and will provide a blended base salary increase of 3.5% for the current school year, and is retroactive to July 1, 2021. The parties also agreed to give teachers a one-time $1,500 bonus. Additionally, all teachers will be provided with up to three days of bereavement leave.

The total compensation package represents an increase of approximately 6%, which significantly exceeds what the state offered for teacher salary increases. Following ratification of the agreement, teachers will receive retroactive payments for the salary increase and bonus in June 2022.

This settlement is a well-deserved win for teachers, CTA, and the District. The School District recognizes the extraordinary efforts of its teachers and hopes this helps to attract additional educators to Palm Beach County Schools. Watch the CTA Bargaining Session where the discussion and agreement took place.
