From elementary to middle to high, there’s no substitute for a great substitute! More than one full year of a student’s K-12 education is taught by substitute teachers. By standing in for absent teachers whenever needed, these exceptional educators fill a significant gap in the education of students.

The dedication of these substitutes plays an important role in the instruction of our youth and deserves everyone's appreciation. The School District of Palm Beach County is happy to recognize the outstanding efforts of substitute teachers in the community during National Substitute Teacher Appreciation Week, May 2-6.

As part of the week-long event, substitute teachers from across the county were nominated by both school leaders and students for special recognition in the following categories: Substitute of the Year, Student Favorite Substitute, and Best Attendance Award.
