Five Class of 2022 Adult Education Graduates Earn Scholarships to Further Their Education

HEROES Foundation of America awarded scholarships to five deserving students at the 2022 Adult Education graduation ceremony. The Foundation provides support services to GED students and scholarship opportunities to fund post-secondary and vocational programs for recent GED graduates who were enrolled in Adult Education programs in the School District of Palm Beach County.
“Chuck Shaw Technical Education Center is proud to have the Heroes Foundation as a business partner and looks forward to many more years of successful collaboration,” said Awilda Tomas-Andres, the Principal of the Chuck Shaw Center.
Each of the following students received a $2,000 scholarship that will go toward their education at a post-secondary institution of their choice. The students were selected by a scholarship committee, based on their qualities of persistence, perseverance, and grit, along with a passion for learning and achieving their goals:
Gabriela Alvarado
This scholarship will allow Gabriela to pursue an associate degree in Medical Technology at Palm Beach State College with an eventual goal of achieving a bachelor's degree.

Stefany Bejarano
Stefany plans to pursue a bachelor's degree in Business Administration. Her ultimate dream is to lead a nonprofit organization that serves underprivileged people in the community.

Janie Azenette Cisneros
Janie’s goal is to be a nurse in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. This scholarship will help her jumpstart her career and fulfill her lifelong dream of becoming a nurse.

Chelo Julien
His passion and drive to go to college will enable him to do bigger and better things in life. Chelo plans to attend Palm Beach State College to study graphic design.

Enrique Montes-Paris
Enrique enrolled in the Project Management Program at Palm Beach State College. His goal is to become a business owner.

HEROES Foundation of America is a nonprofit organization founded by Sandra Caruso, a former Instructional Specialist in the School District of Palm Beach County. The foundation was formed to empower GED students enrolled in the School District, and it provides scholarships, GED Test vouchers, career counseling, and other support services for student success.
