Step 1: Determine Eligibility
Can my child attend VPK?
To be eligible, your child must be at least 4-years-old by September 1 of the school year they are applying to attend and must have a valid Florida State VPK Certificate.
-
If your child was born between February 2, 2015 - February 1, 2016, he or she may be eligible for the 2020-21 school year.
-
If your child was born between February 2, 2016 - September 1, 2016, he or she may be eligible for either the 2020-2021 school year or 2021-22 school year.
Step 2: Obtain a Valid Florida VPK Certificate of Eligibility
How do I obtain a VPK Certificate of Eligibility?
You may apply for a VPK Certificate through the Early Learning Coalition of Palm Beach County (ELC).
Step 3: Find a School and a Seat
Where can my child attend?
- Locate your neighborhood zoned elementary school through “Find my school."
- Determine if your local School District of Palm Beach County elementary school has a VPK program through our “School Site” page.
- If your in-boundary zone elementary school offers VPK, call that school directly to inquire about available seats and enrollment dates.
- If your in-boundary zone elementary does NOT have a VPK program or does not have space, you may call or email the Department of Early Childhood Education to discuss alternative options at (561) 434-8720 or earlychildhooded@palmbeachschools.org.
Step 4: Enroll
