Purpose and Functions

IT Infrastructure, Systems Support provides the foundation for technology required in today’s classrooms and administrative centers. The infrastructure, both wired and wireless, is designed to be robust, yet flexible as the District shifts toward new technology.

The network requires bandwidth capacity, flexibility, mobility, and security to meet the needs of our schools in real-time. With the goal of supporting classrooms and schools with reliable and robust solutions, IT focuses our projects based on the District’s goals and mission to enhance student achievement.

The department is responsible for continuous uptime, acceptable performance, and overall improvement of the back-end infrastructure (servers, network equipment, phones, etc.) required to maintain the District’s technology and mission-critical systems. This includes, but is not limited to, PeopleSoft, email, EDW, Internet, and instructional applications.

School District and charter school employees with technology-related issues may contact the IT Service Desk at itservicedesk@palmbeachschools.org or 242-4100.
