Program Details
History
In partnership with Florida Atlantic University, The Leadership For Excellence in Education Quality Program (ExEQ Program) is a 22-month Master's Level Program that allows participants to earn a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership while completing the District's Aspiring Assistant Principals Program simultaneously. Instructors are current principals and District leaders. ExEQ provides job-embedded, experiential learning targeting high-needs schools.
Requirements for applying to the FAU ExEQ Program
- Endorsement from the principal, based on evidence of leadership characteristics
- Not currently enrolled in another program leading to Level 1 Certification or currently hold a Level 1 Certification
- Demonstrates instructional leadership by focusing on student achievement
- Minimum of 3 years teaching experience
- Rated effective or highly effective on evaluations from the last three years (inclusive of evaluation letter)

Nomination window: July 31, 2026 - September 18, 2026
Nomination Process: To begin the nomination process, principals should complete the Program Nominator Contact Form linked HERE to express their intention to nominate a candidate by Friday, September 18, 2026. Upon receipt and review, a Nomination Form will be emailed to the nominating principal from TMiller7@fau.edu to collect nominee details.
Email notification to nominees and mentors: September 25, 2026
Timed writing and Interview window: Oct 1-13, 2026
Orientation date for new cohort members: December 8, 2026
First session date for Cohort 9: March 2027
Please note that by nominating, principals also commit to additional mentor expectations, including mentorship and providing leadership experiences that lend themselves to the assistant principal position. Additional details may be found at FAU ExEq Program.
