Paid Student Teacher Internships

Paid Student Teacher Internship

The paid student teaching internship provides approved regular employees with the School District of Palm Beach County an opportunity to receive their current salary and benefits for one semester while they complete their student teaching internship.

Who is eligible?

  • Regular employees participating in a five-day-a-week/full-time student teaching internship during their last semester before graduating are eligible. Temporary employees are not eligible (i.e., substitute teachers and afterschool counselors).
  • Employees must intern in a CTA bargaining unit job classification  (i.e., classroom teacher, guidance counselor, speech and language pathologist, etc.).

How to Apply
At least three weeks before the student teaching semester begins, the employee must notify their university supervisor and Myra Lawrence-Matthew that they would like to participate in the paid internship and submit the Paid Internship Notification Form.
