Classroom Management

Teachers and staff apply a positive and proactive approach to classroom management through a framework that guides them to explicitly teach classroom expectations, monitor student behavior, provide feedback, build positive relationships, and fluently correct undesirable behaviors. Each classroom management plan details expectations for students' varied activities on any given day. Teachers are encouraged to present their classroom expectations using the “CHAMPS” format, which breaks down each activity’s expectations into parameters for conversation, how to ask for help, movement, and indicators for participation. School-based staff have access to professional development and personalized coaching support in classroom management.
