Purpose and Functions
School Food Service provides nutritious meals and promotes healthful living. In following our vision of placing "Kids First", we take great pride in providing nutritional breakfasts, lunches, snacks, suppers, and summer meals in accordance with the USDA National School Lunch and School Breakfast regulations. Additionally, we administer, oversee, and/or offer the following:
- Income Survey processing
- Assistance for parents with children with special dietary needs
- Maintenance and repair of food service equipment
- Catering functions upon request
- Fresh Fruits and Vegetables Program in selected schools
- School Garden Support
- Healthy School Team guidance and support
- Human resources process for School Food Service staff
- Nutrition education items and events upon request
- Health Fairs at selected schools
- The District's Wellness Promotion Policy and Task Force
