K-12 District Accreditation POC Activity
The forms linked below contain the "Required Actions" from the 2013 District Accreditation report. As we prepare for our Jan 2018 accreditation "Engagement Review," it is important to assess how well we are addressing each of these areas. Read each "Required Action" carefully, and with your school leadership team, briefly answer each item. Use the link below that corresponds to your school. Please complete this prior to your first training.
The AdvancED Accreditation Process, a protocol embraced around the world, is a clear and comprehensive program of evaluation and external review, supported by research-based standards, and dedicated to helping schools, districts and education providers continuously improve. AdvancED is the world’s largest education community, serving more than 30,000 public and private schools and districts across the United States and in 70 countries that educate over 16 million students.
As the global leader in advancing education excellence through accreditation and school improvement, AdvancED brings together more than 100 years of experience and the expertise of the three largest US-based accreditation agencies — the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA CASI), Northwest Accreditation Commission (NWAC), and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS CASI).
The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS CASI) is a division of AdvancED. The mission of SACS CASI is the improvement of education in the south through accreditation.
The School District of Palm Beach County (SDPBC) has held AdvancED's most prestigious Accredited status since first becoming a fully accredited school district in 2008. District Accreditation recognizes that increasing student achievement involves more than improving instruction. It is a result of how well all the parts of the education system – the District, school, and classroom – work together to meet the needs of students.
