Choice lottery selections will be announced on Friday, March 31 after 3 p.m. for the District’s Choice and Career Options programs, capping off a period of anticipation and excitement for students and parents.
Selections are made by computer-generated lottery, and parents will be notified by email of their results. For this most recent application cycle, the District received a record number of applications, with approximately 21,000 student applications submitted and more than 36,000 total choices indicated. Applications can include multiple choices.
The District has more than 300 programs at schools throughout Palm Beach County, with options ranging from medical sciences, information technology, International Baccalaureate, Dual Language, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) and more. Additionally, beginning with the 2017-2018 school year, the District will offer parents and legal guardians the opportunity for their child to apply for and attend a school outside their regular attendance zone through the Controlled Open Enrollment process.
