[Videos]: Shaw, Barbieri Recognized for Work with Special Programs in the Community

School Board Chairman Chuck Shaw and School Board member Frank Barbieri were both honored this past weekend for their work with programs in the community.

Shaw was given a lifetime achievement award by the Pine Jog Environmental Center during its annual fundraiser. Shaw has served as a member of the FAU/Pine Jog Advisory Committed for years and supports green initiatives in District schools.

More than 100 people turned out for the event at the Center which included a silent auction, food and music.

Meanwhile, on the same evening, Frank Barbieri was honored by at the Best Foot Forward Blooming Bash at the Polo Club in Boca Raton. Barbieri is a founding board member of Best Foot Forward, a non-profit, community-based organization created to improve educational outcomes for abused, neglected and abandoned children living in foster care in Palm Beach County. Barbieri has been instrumental in the growth and expansion of the agency, which now serves more than 110 students from Kindergarten through college. The programs are successful because of the incredible partnership with Best Foot Forward and the School District.
