Alexander W. Dreyfoos Jr. School of the Arts senior Bernardo Hasbach is a talented pianist who boasts a 3.97 GPA and 5.0 HPA.
“I do take a lot of pride in how much work I put into school, because I really want to do the best that I can,” he says.
In addition to his academic studies and knack for the piano, Hasbach is the co-founder of a unique non-profit organization. He started the “School Lunch Fairy” program with a friend in an effort to help less fortunate students be able to pay for their school lunches. The organization has raised over $20,000 to offset the cost of lunches for students thus far.
“The idea of kids not eating [means] they can’t focus. It detracts not only from their health, but also their ability to do well in school. It was just something that I felt someone should do something about,” Hasbach shared.
