Applications Currently Being Accepted For Student Summer Writing Workshop

Students currently in grades 6-11 are encouraged to apply for the Canon Future Authors Workshop, a free, stimulating seven-day seminar designed to sharpen their writing skills.

Students will have the opportunity to write and revise materials for publication, as well as meet local writers during informative discussion sessions.

The workshop is sponsored by Junior Achievement of the Palm Beaches & Treasure Coast, and the Richard & Lesley Stone Family Fund.

WHAT: Canon Future Authors Workshop

WHEN: June 5-7 and June 11-14, 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. each day.

WHERE: Don Estridge High Tech Middle School – 1798 NW Spanish River Blvd., Boca Raton, FL 33431 and
Glades Central High School – 1001 S.W. Ave. M, Belle Glade, FL 33430.

During the workshop dates, the workshop will take place at both schools simultaneously. Students can choose which location they wish to attend.

HOW TO APPLY: Students must submit an application, a creative writing sample, and a teacher recommendation.

Applications are due by Friday, April 27. Students are responsible for their own transportation and meals during the workshop. Students who have previously attended the Workshop can apply to be a mentor at Don Estridge or Glades Central.
